American Idol: Final 8 - The Heartbreak Begins

I'm devastated. I was almost totally off tonight. But I did say a few weeks ago, that the heartbreak would begin soon, on the elimination. And how right I was, on that count. :(

The best vocalist in the competition, Mandisa, was in the bottom 3 has been kicked out. And Elliot Yamin was in the bottom 3! What the hell??? My only prediction that came true was on Paris Bennett for bottom 3.

Looks like Ace Young and Taylor Hicks has a stronger support base than I thought. Although Taylor was definitely the worst performer last night (with the poorest song choice for his voice) and deserved to be sent home.

Even poor song selection cannot justify the voting pattern. Seems that merit has been sacrificed at the altar of popularity.

At this rate, I won't be surprised if Kelly Pickler wins this year. And then American Idol, would be just as bad as Akademi Fantasia last year.

Then they'll just prove that every country has their own version of "Mawi", be it male or female. It will become another mindless popularity contest - not a singing contest, that is searching for an American Idol.

Let's hope it doesn't come to that. I'm praying hard that Chris and Katherine will survive till the top 2.

Dinzie and TTG a.k.a. makcik-makcik merisik:

Thanks for tonight. It was good fun. :) And at least, I've made a new friend that has gone through similar experiences in life.

It was great meeting the rest of the gang, too! :)

But again, this is the LAST time, I'll let you guys do this to me - it's nerve-wrecking! ;)

Too bad about Mandisa. I sure hope Chris Daughtry survives. Anyway, as you may know, Naima won America's Next Top Model, but I thought Keenyah deserved to be in the last 2.

Wud be interested to know if your blind date was the strong Malay mould-breaker type you're so fascinated with. Better to have these types as your "friends-for-life", but the traditional, obedient, fawning Siti Nurhaliza type as your wife, no?

what an insult to us women. are you saying that so-called ball breakers aren't fit to be men's spouses?

but you may have a point. perhaps the Siti Nurhaliza types would make better wives for MALAY men. then you get bored and look for women like us to have flings with.

sooooooo impressive.

I was being tongue-in-cheek, sorry for offense. Agree that ball-breakers are exciting, but wonder if long term relationship can run on that type of excitement alone. I think it takes a rare type of man to live with a ball-breaker: you have to be strong for her to lean on, to be the listening ear and the punching bag (she's full of fiery energy all the time), you have to know when to remain in the background, and when to step up and rescue her (she'll have many enemies), you have to clear the path for her and take care of the little things in life. Among other things.

Life is exciting with a ball-breaker, but as with all things, it comes with a price.

As for flings, I think alpha (and sub-alpha) males will have flings regardless of whether they marry a ball-breaker or a barbie doll.

yes.. and who was that mystery gal that you brought to my party eh? she was hott! a bit toooo hott for you which leaves me thinking, sure or not boleh maintain.. but then.. opposites do attract.. so we shall see eh.. u stingray stud u!.. hope the music we played led to some bed rocking.. :)

btw.. when will we see our dear Stingray audition for the "One in A Million" show.. bet you all wanna see that right.. c'mon.. let's give Sting like a Bee here some encouragement..

Have you heard him sing live at W Wine Room? Cair cair.. kesiiiiiiian pompuan datin datin tua semua..

i'm still waiting for duet album Siti & Stingray.. "Together Forever At Last"..

Does have a rhyme to it doesn't it? hahaha..

ok ok.. i'm bored at the moment while Toh Puan P is still snoozing away at 5pm!

plus.. i did get to check out this new gal (if she's the same gal from the 1st night) who was literally hanging on to Sting's arm a beautiful Tod's bronze pouch handbang that TTG will most likely never get to see.. sorry TTG.. hehe.. better luck in Bandung..

well, stereotypes aside.. i think Sting finally got those disgusted looks from men.. the clueless look that said.. "How could a guy like that end up with a gal like that?" situation.. after all these years of seeing undeserving men go out with really hott women as you stood by the sidelines finally you probably got to be the one men hated.. bet you even got Shrzl jealous.. hahaha..

but in all honesty.. first impressions.. i'm actually lost for words bro, not that you can't go out with these gals.. you should for balance and frame of reference purposes, you know, to appreciate the fine after seeing the rough..

i've always figured you to deserve someone more worthy of your persona, rich intellect and character.. someone you can converse with on any topic on earth, regardless if she was the Ball Breaker, Siti or Barbie 'yea abang' type..

of which didn't come across when i was introduced to her.. perhaps, that is why you seem uninspired..

she seemed more like a fragile egg shell that if taken onto the dancefloor, she could have cracked due to the bass from the speakers and there would be no hump'ity the dim'aunty for you.. hehehe..

but, it was purely from that first impression and society gossip about your latest catch (yes, Mr,. Sting, we gossip about you worthy of being in OK! Magazine, local edition saja laa).. and i was busy.. so i could be entirely wrong.. unless you give us an update and tell us otherwise.. ;)

Anon 2:

Yep, I knew that Naima won. It was expected. :)

No comment on the date. We're just friends. Thanks.

Dinzie:

If I wanted the Siti type, I'd be married again already by now. 'Nuff said.

There's no new one. JD buat cerita. :) This bunny is all out of batteries, dear.

And since when did mould-breakers become ball-breakers lak ni? ;D

JD:

She's a nice girl and I was lucky to have her lovely company as my date for Saturday night. I had a great time.

But you're right, after seeing so many bastards/losers go out with a hot girl like that - I was so glad to be the "loser" for that night. If you can't beat them, join them! ;)

Anyway we're just friends - I'm not marrying her. Relax-lah.

Yes, we are friends. No worries. Kirim salam to the lady, when you see her. :)

And yes, I'm quite sure that you're more than capable of getting your own TODS.

And it'll be much faster (and easier) than waiting for me to end up with the right person. That could take decades! ;)

Nope. I hate golf. It's not a game when more people play it for business networking, than for the love of the game.
