American Idol - Down To Five
Kellie is out!! It's a MIRACLE! Someone whom has never been in the bottom 3, has been booted out in the American Idol.
What could it mean? Are American Idol audiences finally voting, based on talent again? It seems that way - since Katherine and Chris are in the top 2!! (I thought she dressed better than she sang, last night - after all, if you've got it, flaunt it!).
They were followed by Taylor and Elliot. And Paris had the least votes, of the top 5 survivors. She may survive again. You have to remember - she's been in the bottom 3 about 4 times and survived! :)
I'm relatively happy. What would make me even happier is to see Taylor sent home, next week. Then we'll actually have the best and most consistent 4 in the competition.
From then onwards, it's touch and go - anyone can be eliminated - as all of them would stand an equal chance. At the end of the night, it's the performance that counts. And what great performances will be in store for us in the next few weeks, as everyone pushes their abilities to the limit.
But that's 2 weeks away. Let's see whether America can get it right for another week, next week!

yippeeeeee!! Kellie's out! Next is Paris. Then Elliot. And then, Taylor. The final two will be Katharine and Chris. Still haven't decide which one will win. hmmmmm

But then again, last year - 2 years ago, I thought La Toya London was going to be in the top 2. And I was wrong.

final 2 is the most consistent chris & elliot. and elliot will win coz chris will go off to be the lead singer of Fuel.

Sorrylah bro, I think you biaslah.. I can see right thru McPhee how overconfident she is..
She's pretty and that is her weapon.. Admit or no admit, most people are rooting for McPhee coz of her look. Paris on the other hand has a rare style of singing.. eventhough more suited for jazzy kinda stuff.. but she can sing ANY song and make it her own.... and so is Elliot, Chris and Taylor.
Woit. Taylor is definitely more entertaining than Paris. Paris should go first.
I think top two will be Chris and Katharine.. and I think Katharine will win eventually because she's the prettier one between the two! (Though if I had it my way, I'd choose Elliot to be the next Idol cuz I think he's the most talented!)
In any case, I still want my IPOD. Thank you. :p
Pixie - it doesnt mean in the show that the prettier one will always win. Look at what happened to Ace, Kellie and Lisa Tucker.
It's good to know that American idol is moving more towards talent than looks. Katherine the "overconfident" one may win, but I think the humble and down to earth Chris should emerge the overall winner. And certainly, if the way the US music industry works is any benchmark, it is likely that Chris Daughtry will have a more successful career than Katherine since he is more contemporary in sound than she is, and will be an asset in any top American rock group easily (as is rumoured Fuel's interest to have him as their lead singer). Katherine on the other hand will probably end up initially like Carrie Underwood if she wins, struggling to make a first hit..and then inevitably resort to a sexy image showing more skin as what happened to Kelly Clarkson who's now emulating the Britneys and Lindsay Lohans of US. Sad but true.
So actually for Katherine's own good....vote Chris! har har....by the way Stingray bro, don't you think Katherine's looks a lot like Cosmic gurl from Promuda?

Agree with you that she's pretty and that's an asset anywhere - not just in singing.
Don't agree with you that people are voting for her purely because of her looks.
Be fair - her vocal range is one of the widest in the group.
Elliot's a good singer - but there are times when he's just okay. Am American Idol is a star - you gotta sparkle all the time.

I was travelling and I missed this (or rather last) week's show again. Didn't realise my "long shot" worked out! I can see Kellie voters switching to Kathy (and Taylor, perhaps). Paris has been quite resilient, hasn't she? My broad brush "brand analysis": Paris = soul; Kathy = pop; Chris = rock; Taylor = country?. Elliott = ?? Based on the weakest brand, I'd say Elliott will be out next week.

And I hope that Paris would continue being resilient, for at least 1-2 more weeks.
Given the right song choices, she will continue to dazzle us, with what she's got.
